LISTEN
By Trevor Sapp
There is an urgent cry resounding deep in the heart of the Father. His desire is that His people would turn aside and take time to hear what He is saying. His desire is that we would cease from our daily routine and turn our attention toward that which His heart desires. We need to hear what He is saying clearly…specifically.
Note
the following verses:
Exod
3:1-5
1
Now Moses was pasturing the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest
of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness, and came to
Horeb, the mountain of God.
2
And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the
midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet
the bush was not consumed.
3
So Moses said, "I must turn aside now, and see this marvelous sight,
why the bush is not burned up."
4
When the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from
the midst of the bush, and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said,
"Here I am."
5
Then He said, "Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your
feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground."
The
implication in these verses is that the bush had been burning for a while. Moses
made a conscience decision to stop what he was doing and pay attention to what
the L-rd was trying to communicate to him. It was when Moses finally turned
aside to listen that the L-rd spoke life-changing truths to him.
As believers and ministers, often we get so caught up in religious
activity that we fail to spend time really and truly seeking G-d and listening
for His voice. We do those things that we feel are what He would have
done, based on what we believe about Him. G-d would rather that we
consult Him, that He would direct our every step.
So
many of us, recognizing the state of the Body, are crying out for revival.
True revival can only be born out of seeking the desires of His heart. We
need to remove all hindrances to this taking place. Many prayers are offered
within the context of the understanding of the one praying. G-d’s desire is
that the one praying would listen, that he/she would hear His
heart and pray in agreement with what He desires based on His
understanding. Praying from G-d’s perspective is praying with authority and
power. It is praying in agreement with the Spirit and, because it is an
expression of His will, G-d will move on these prayers. This is strategic
prayer…prayer that changes things.
It
is G-d’s desire to bring revival—but not in the way we expect it.
There have been many great moves of G-d throughout history, but this will
different from anything we’ve read about or experienced. The revivals of the
past have been times of refreshing or outpourings of sustenance for a Body that
has been, to a great degree, emaciated from lack of proper nourishment. The
revival the L-rd desires to bring this time will not be in that vein. The L-rd
desires to manifest His glory on the earth. He wants to reveal Himself through
His people in ways we’ve not known. He
is not going to wink at sin or overlook error, not this time. This is not
church-changing, warm fuzzies, this is EARTH CHANGING manifestations of His
presence!
It
is imperative…absolutely imperative, that believers seek the L-rd in this
regard. We have to hear HIS
voice. We must know HIS opinion. We must cast aside every agenda and
every plan of human origin. We must
cooperate with the plan of G-d. The
approaching days will be like none we’ve seen. G-d will need vessels of
righteousness on the earth. He will need those who have been emptied of self,
that they might contain Him. We
cannot be those vessels apart from hearing Him and walking in obedience to what
He is saying.
This cry is resounding throughout the heavens: “Turn aside….Listen…Hear the heart of G-d….He has something to say.”

G-d’s
definition of revival and our definition (as the Body) are distinctly different.
We have our expectation of revival – but the L-rd is wanting not only
to send revival, restoration and renewal, but in all
of this He is restoring His Ways, which most of the Body will not recognize when
it comes.
I encourage you to prepare yourselves to receive from the L-rd on a new level
beginning at Shavuot (Pentecost) this year.
If you want to walk in a higher place with Him, it will cost you a higher
price.
Let’s set our faces toward Him so that we can accomplish His will in the
Earth.
